Welcome to CyberBioSecurity.Farm — Here I discuss the intersection of cybersecurity and agriculture.
Cybersecurity in agriculture has evaded extensive exploration and I find the exposure of our food systems and the under-development of agriculture’s defensive posture unsettling.
Cybersecurity has balloned into a massive umbrella term, encompassing hundreds of industries and there is a need to specifically address cyber issues in agriculture, health care, and the biomedical fields. Enter cyberbiosecurity, which emerged in the 2010s and boomed during the Covid-19 pandemic.
I started this blog to:
- To discuss the intersection of Agriculture and Cybersecurity, “cyberbiosecurity”
- To share my thoughts on Agriculture
- To chronicle my learning journey as I pivot from full time farming to cybersecurity
- To meet individuals interested in the same things as me
At this time I am a full time student in a Networking Security program and loving it. After more than 15 years of fiddling around with Linux and hacking, I get to learn about and pursue this passion fully. I have no regrets about spending the time I did immersed in agriculture, but it feels great to jump in to a whole new field full time and face a whole different set of challenges. Thanks for reading!
